Located in Rustico and central to most any activity or destination on PEI, The Barachois is Prince Edward Island’s definitive five-star country inn, in every way - the authentic heritage of an 1880 home cast in the halo of St. Augustine’s imposing church steeples - beautifully appointed, rich with antiques, superb breakfasts, immersion in comfort and privacy and the genuine hospitality of the MacDonald family.
Your vacation is our priority: our reputation for personalized service and our commitment to quality, our 5 Star luxury accommodations and our historic locale all contribute to a vacation you won't soon forget. The Inn consists of two main houses, the Gallant House - built in 1880 by one of the area's most successful merchants, Joseph Gallant - and the MacDonald House, a newer facility offering four large suites that bring a modern feel to a historic era. These two houses provide our guests with the choice of eight different styles of private accommodations from traditional Victorian rooms to luxury suites, with scenic vistas over the Island's north shore, winding waterways and our Victorian Garden.
For guests requiring accessibility, Suite 6, as well as the entrance to MacDonald House,
was designed and built with accessibility in mind, with direct access from our parking lot to entrance ramp.
The Historic Gallant House whispers of an elegant era gone past; the simpler and yet beautiful era of Prince Edward Island's rich history is reflected in every detail. The host home to the main facilities that the Barachois Inn offers, our Gallant House hosts a lovely main dining area where guests congregate for breakfast, delightful parlours and four Victorian style suites. All accommodations in the Gallant House are located on the second and third floors, offering a breathtaking panoramic vista of the Island's famed North Shore and it's winding waterways for our guests.
A stay with us always includes “The Barachois Experience” - a Signature Concierge service for all guests - from formal planning such as dinner reservations, purchasing theatre tickets, reserving golf tee times and transportation but also that extra step to offer suggestions not found in our Island tourism brochures, such as a romantic private beach, some of the more picturesque biking trails or a local event that is popular within the community that help make your vacation truly memorable.
